Don't get your hopes up now. It looks like there is nothing planned for the much anticipated "Red Dead Redemption 2" this year, or anything from Rockstar Games for that matter.
Fans have been eagerly waiting for the day that the sequel of "Red Dead Redemption" is finally announced. However, Rockstar has been frustratingly mum about its latest projects as usual, keeping its thousands of fans in the dark.
Despite Rockstar's lack of updates, the "Red Dead" sequel has been in the rumor mill for quite some time now. Since the beginning of the year, numerous leaks have pointed out to at least the existence of the game, from the sequel's rumored title "Legends of the West" to protagonist John Marston's apparent comeback.
Fans have been waiting for Rockstar to drop the bomb at a major gaming event this year. Unfortunately, many were left disappointed by the title's absence at the most prominent gaming conventions.
The title was first hotly tipped to be launched at the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year, with Take-Two Interactive declaring that the company will be there "in a big way."
"Red Dead Redemption 2" didn't make an appearance in the trade show, however. It was rumored to be cancelled due to the recent Orlando attacks, but the speculation was quickly dispelled.
The game was also tipped to be announced at this year's Gamescom and even durring the Playstation Meeting, even if the latter is unlikely to happen.
These speculations have led to yet another disappoinment among fans as there is no mention of "Red Dead" anywhere during these events, not even the recently rumored "Red Dead Redemption Remaster" for PC and PS4.
According to iDigitalTimes, there is still a possibility that Rockstar will be announcing anything this year. This may mean, however, that these unannounced games may not even be released until 2018, which spells a long title drought for the renowned developer.
Stay tuned for more "Red Dead Redemption 2" updates.
