The much awaited World War I-themed shooter "Battlefield 1" has launched its public beta on Sept. 1, but not without problems.

As we have reported previously, the Early Access beta for "Battlefield 1" started on Aug. 21 via the Battlefield Insider program. The beta was then opened to the public on Sept. 1. Since then, the servers were disrupted with several issues that lasted well over the weekend.

According to a Twitter message posted by the official EA Support page, the issue was not unique to "Battlefield 1." It appears that all the games under EA are affected by the server outage.

"EA is currently experiencing an outage. EA games, services & support may be impacted. We're working to resolve as fast as possible," EA Support wrote on Sept. 1.

According to Gamespot, the outage was speculated to be caused by a hacking group, who apparently took responsibility for the server issues EA suffered recently. Gamespot also reported that the "Battlefield 1" servers are now fixed by EA.

However, this is still not the case for some players, as a handful of people are still commenting on the "Battlefield" Twitter account that they are having difficulties getting in the server.

With some calling out for EA to extend the "Battlefield 1" open beta due to its bleak first day, a rumor is circulating that the beta will be ending on Thursdsay, Sept. 8. This rumor stemmed from an email allegedly sent by EA Poland to Czech website Zing (via Videogamer).

The email said that the beta will end on Sept. 8, and has implied that it will be the last beta to be conducted before the game's release.

"We haven't announced yet when the Beta will end," the official "Battlefield" Twitter commented, "but stay tuned for more details on this soon."

However, one fan replied to the Tweet by confirming that the beta will indeed end on Sept. 8, as per the EA Servers.

"Battlefield 1" will be released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Oct. 21.
