As fans eagerly await for "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3, the internet world is besieged with a slew of spoilers and predictions for next season.

Speculations are rife that the next season of "Tokyo Ghoul" might feature Ken Kaneki declaring himself as the One-Eyed King. It stemmed from earlier reports claiming that the storyline of the third season will be based on the events of "Tokyo Ghoul:re" manga.

"Toyko Ghoul:re" Manga

The on-going manga is said to be a sequel to the original "Tokyo Ghoul" series. It is set two years after the Commission of Counter Ghoul's (CCG) raided a small neighborhood café called Anteiku.

Despite CCG's continuous efforts, ghouls keep on posing as a threat in Tokyo, particularly when the terrorist organization, known Aogiri Tree, begun acknowledging the CCG's growing threat to their existence.

In a bid to eliminate Tokyo's undesirable inhabitants, CCG formed a special team known as the Quinx Squad. The special team is composed of humans who have undergone surgery in order to make use of the unique abilities of ghouls.

The leader of this group is said to be a half-ghoul, half-human, Haise Sasaki (Ken Kaneki), who has been trained by the famed special class investigator, Kishou Arima.

Ken Kaneki as the One-Eyed King

According to ASZ News, "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 might feature Ken Kaneki taking the title of the most impressive figure within the universe, the One-Eyed King.

In the 86th chapter of "Tokyo Ghoul:re" manga, courtesy of Manga Stream, Ken Kaneki was initially asked by Eto Yoshimura to execute the One-Eyed King.

After defeating the King, who was revealed to be Kishou Arima, Eto offered Ken the notorious throne. Hence, the latter proclaimed himself the One-Eyed King when confronting the members of CCG.

While nothing is impossible, the reports should still be taken with a grain of salt. Stay tuned for more "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 news and updates here.
