“Tokyo Ghoul” Season 3, according to multiple news sources, will be airing its premiere in March of this year. The delay of the franchise’s third instalment has been attributed to more than one reason.
Opp Trends has reported that “Tokyo Ghoul” Season 3 was delayed due to insufficient material. In addition to that, production was also reportedly postponed after its production company got itself into hot water following the franchise’s second season and had to transfer production rights to another company.
According to Korea Portal, Studio Pierrot received a lot of backlash from “Tokyo Ghoul” fans after they came up with a second season that deviated away from the original story on the manga. That said, Studio Pierrot reportedly transferred the said anime’s production rights to Madhouse Entertainment.
It must be noted that Madhouse Entertainment is the same production company that is behind other successful animated franchises, such as “Death Note,” “Hunter X Hunter,” and “One Punch Man.” That said, fans are expecting “Tokyo Ghoul” Season 3 to be the franchise’s most successful one.
“Tokyo Ghoul” Season 3 will reportedly bring in a new character, Toka Kirishima. This new character will be very rude toward the franchise’s protagonist, Ken Kaneki. The reason behind her hostility remains unclear, but “Tokyo Ghoul” Season 3 is expected to delve further into that particular story arc. She could turn out to be more than Ken’s friend. As reported by multiple news sources, Toka is expected to be Ken’s newest love interest in “Tokyo Ghoul” Season 3.
In addition to being turned into an animated series, “Tokyo Ghoul” is also going to be adapted into a live action movie. The newest image, which can be seen on Comic Book, shows Japanese actress Fumika Shimizu as the aforementioned Toka.
Shimizu’s image is the second movie-related photo that was released to the public. Masataka Kubota was already featured in an earlier image as the franchise’s lead character, Ken.
