Aspiring Pokémon trainers are still getting in on the "Pokémon GO" craze, but the frustration is mounting in countries where the game has not even launched yet.
Since the popular augmented-reality game landed in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States in July, excited Pokémon fans have patiently waited for the game to land on their own shores. Unfortunately for some countries like India, South Korea, and China, the waiting game is still not over.
With the lack of updates from Niantic Labs regarding launch dates for other countries, the interest for the game has slowly waned, particularly in India. On Twitter, some miffed players have expressed their grievances using the hashtag #PokemonGoIndia.
"The reason we are not getting support is only some parts are geoblocked," Twitter user anandraj wrote, "so other (sic) are not supporting for release in India."
Another angry Twitter user waiting for the "Pokémon GO" launch in India, ankushdas45 said, "It's too late you guys broke our heart I will never install 'Pokémon GO' in phone you put India outside of asia."
Last week, news of the game being possibly banned in India has added fuel to the fire, as a public interest litigation was filed in the Gujarat High Court calling for the game to be outlawed in the country.
The same launch woes still prevail in South Korea, where security restrictions and national issues continue to delay the release date for "Pokémon GO." According to Huffington Post, this restriction was put in place to prevent sensitive data from falling into North Korean hands.
Due to this restriction, some are speculating that the game may not be launched in South Korea at all.
Meanwhile in China, some have grown so tired of waiting for the game, they made their own version of a "Pokémon GO" trainer, probably designed to help players practice their throws until the game actually releases in their country.
The recent update now features cute little animals like pandas, but the original version, as reported by The Next Web, looked eerily familiar.
So when is "Pokémon GO" finally coming out in India, South Korea, and China? Stay tuned for updates. Check out our "Pokémon GO" section for more news, game guides, and tips.
