You're probably excited about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 series since it is expected to be fully packed with more advanced features. You will be more than happy once you know that the three variants, set for 2025 release, will be having a powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
Will this also arrive to its successor?
Tipster Leaks Galaxy S25 Will Come With Stronger Snapdragon Chip
As claimed by Ice Universe via Gadgets 360, a popular tech tipster from X, Samsung will be providing its Galaxy S25 series with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. This is quite a rare move as the earlier Galaxy S24 models had a mix of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 along with its own Exynos 2400 SoC. The all-Snapdragon 8 Elite means Samsung is fully committed to delivering the best performance in all markets.
Marginally Thinner and More Slender with Better Performance
There are rumors that the Galaxy S25 series will be lighter than the rival Galaxy S24 series. The base variant is said to be measured at 146.94 x 70.46 x 7.25 mm, while the Galaxy S25+ would be measured at 158.44 x 75.79 x 7.35 mm.
And the top-tier Galaxy S25 Ultra would allegedly reach 162.82 x 77.65 x 8.25 mm. For comparison, the Galaxy S24 measures 147 x 70.6 x 7.6 mm, and the S24+ and S24 Ultra 158.5 x 75.9 x 7.7 mm and 162.3 x 79 x 8.6 mm, respectively.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra may arrive in a whole palette of attractive colors: Titanium, Blue, and more.
Future Directions in Samsung's Chipset Strategy
Moving forward, Ice Universe also suggests Samsung may only utilize Snapdragon processors for all versions of the Galaxy S26 series. This will be in keeping with a long history of great performance, but also great efficiency regarding energy consumption for the Qualcomm processors, Sam Mobile reports.
There is, though, it would seem, still a little residual Exynos in Samsung. Reports indicate that the tech giant is working on its next-generation Exynos chip, codenamed "Ulysses," for the Galaxy S27 lineup that will hit stores in 2027. The new Exynos processor will be made by Samsung Foundry's advanced second-generation 2nm process node (SF2P) which should be ready by the end of 2026.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series, which is set to arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, is poised to take this smartphone experience to the next level, making it better in terms of performance and efficiency.
As a part of its strategic operations to carve a niche for itself within the competitive mobile phone market, even decisions with regard to chipsets and device designs mark a step in this direction toward innovation.
By early 2025, the Galaxy S25 series will be the talk of the town. Tech fans would love to know how Samsung can somehow take its next move in mobile technology to new heights.
For Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G users, did you know that your device received a security update for this month? According to Sammy Fans, the update has One UI build version G781NKSS9GXJ1.
With this, some security flaws are fixed including two critical and 28 high-level issues from Google. It should be noted that the two of them are not applicable to Galaxy devices.
For the installation package, the update will be around 275 MB. You should not take this update for granted. Although it seems too small, it will protect your handset from potential vulnerabilities that might slow it down.
