After spending a long time waiting for "Pokémon GO" to land on its shores, it looks like India would have another release date hurdle to overcome.
According to International Business Times, a public interest litigation has been filed in the Gujarat High Court in India which calls for a ban on the popular augmented reality game in their country.
The news outlet reported that the reason for the ban is due to the road accidents "Pokémon GO" may cause once the game officially launches.
Despite not getting the official release in India yet, there were already reports of road accidents in the country caused by drivers playing "Pokémon GO" while behind the wheel.
These drivers, as well as many users in India, were all using the unofficial third-party APK file and Virtual Private Networks to bypass the system and play the game.
It is yet to be announced whether the Gujarat High Court will honor the ban or not.
The game is also not available in South Korea as of the moment, as Niantic Labs is still dealing with the map restrictions set by the country following the Korean War. This restriction was put in place to prevent sensitive data from falling into North Korean hands, according to Huffington Post.
Because of this restriction, there are rumors that the game might not make it in South Korea at all. If this is proven true, it will be a disappointing decision, since a lot of people in the country are Pokémon fans, and have been waiting for the game for a long time.
However, South Koreans can access the game in Busan, as its map grid overlaps the Japanese island on Tsushima. GPS signal in this area is active due to this reason, according to The Korea Herald.
