The latest update on Ronda Rousey's return hinted that her next fight might be rescheduled from this year to early 2017. The former UFC bantamweight title holder will reportedly not be seen at the upcoming UFC 205 event because she has not recovered from her injury yet.
Asia Starz reported that UFC President Dana White recently announced that Rousey will have to undergo a knee surgery and as a result will be out of action until either December or January 2017. This has suggested that she will not be seen at the New York fighting event in November 2016.
Furthermore, according to the popular journalist Dave Meltzer Apparently, the 29-year-old mixed martial artist champion is not yet physically fit to make a comeback this year, which has hinted that the next fight will be postponed to next year.
"I talked to one of her friends a couple of weeks ago, and I asked whether Ronda gonna be ready to fight at the garden?" said Meltzer on the latest episode of Submission Radio, as reported by MMA Mania. "And they said, no, probably early 2017. So that was the impression I was given two weeks ago."
Reports also claimed that Rousey is =busy with her film projects, which have further affected her next fight plans.
Earlier, it was reported that if the ex-UFC champ decided to enter the ring, she will then have to face the current UFC bantamweight titleholder Amanda Nunes in her next fight. Reports also stated that Nunes was looking forward to the fight after calling Rousey a loser with not enough physical and emotional strength.
"Ronda had her time and that buzz around her," said Nunes, as stated by Daily Star. "She knows it has cooled down now. She knows she lost. That's the problem. And I have the belt with me. She knows that, and that's why she's avoiding it."
