The latest speculations about former UFC champion Ronda Rousey's next fight hinted that she might take on the current mixed martial art titleholder Amanda Nunes.
MMA Fighting reported that Rousey is more than willing to return to the UFC event by the end of the year. Reports claimed that the 29-year-old skipped the ongoing Rio Olympics 2016 in order to prepare for her next fight. It is stated that Rousey will make a comeback at the UFC 205 event in November 2016.
Rousey has not entered the ring since her defeat to Holly Holm at the UFC 193 event last year. It is also stated that the loss made the former champion mentally weak and less confident. According to the current UFC titleholder Amanda Nunes, Rousey doesn't stand a chance in her rumored comeback fight as she lacks the strength both emotionally and physically.
Should Rousey return to the Octagon ring, Nunes said that the former champion will never be the same again. "Ronda had her time and that buzz around her," said Nunes, as reported by Daily Star. "She knows it has cooled down now. She knows she lost. That's the problem. And I have the belt with me. She knows that, and that's why she's avoiding it."
Nunes also said that Rousey was dominant for years in a row and thus doesn't know how to face defeat and deal with the loss. The 28-year-old feels that she is mentally stronger than Rousey and will be able to easily defeat her.
The current UFC Bantamweight also champion hinted that if Ronda Rousey failed to make a comeback this year, then she will most probably fight UFC 200 titleholder, Julianna Pena.
"Julianna is on a winning streak now," said Nunes, reported Yahoo Sports. "If Ronda doesn't come back, it's going to be Julianna, for sure," she said. "But I believe Ronda will come back."
However, there is no official word on the possible Ronda Rousey next fight. Stay tuned for more updates.
