There are a lot of people who are still playing "Star Wars: Battlefield," according to Electronic Arts' latest financial report.

In the company's latest quarterly report, it is said that over six million unique players have played the action shooter game last quarter, despite being released almost a year ago, VG 24/7 reported.

According to Eurogamer, one of the reasons why people has gotten back into the game is because EA Dice offered players to get a sneak peek at the game's second expansion, "Outer Rim" for free between May 13 to May 15.

Some are also suprised at the figure that EA claimed, believing that the game has already lost its charm a few months after its release due to numerous complaints about the game's lack of content.

"Star Wars: Battlefront" received mixed reviews at launch. On the review aggregator site Metacritic, the game garnered an average critic score of 73, 75 and 72 for the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC, respectively.

The game was praised for its stunning visuals and excellent gameplay, but was criticized for its lack of both single player and multiplayer content.

Despite the average scores, EA DICE's "Star Wars: Battlefront" is considered a commercial success, with the company selling over 13 million copies of the game.

During this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3, Electronic Arts has announced that the sequel for "Star Wars: Battlefront" is in the works, according to IGN.

The next game is said to have" bigger and better worlds" than the first title, and would pull inspiration from the newer "Star Wars" movies.

Electronic Arts has also revealed this information on its previous financial report, and also confirmed that the company is aiming to release at least one "Star Wars" game per year "over the next 3 to 4 years."

Apart from that, a "Star Wars" VR game, titled "Star Wars Battlefront: X-Wing VR Mission" is also said to be in development.
