Some days ago, rumors about "Metal Gear Solid 5" getting the highly anticipated "proper" closure made rounds on the internet, especially Kojima's fans. The listing was called "Metal Gear Solid: V Definitive Ex."
With the abrupt ending that fans and gamers had with "Metal Gear Solid 5," it would only fitting to have it wrapped up nicely. With creator Hideo Kojima being out of the big picture, fans wore their disappointed faces, especially on Chapter 2's sudden ending.
However, several news sites reported that a listing for "Metal Gear Solid 5 Definitive Ex" was spotted on Amazon UK and Japan. Just a few moments after it spread out like a wildfire, the listing was taken down immediately.
The interesting thing about it is that not just crafty redditors spotted it. Even gamespot did as shown on their tweet last week.
If this was all, but a mistake, one of the biggest possibilities that it could have been was the listing was supposedly for Konami's Metal Gear-inspired Pachinko game.
Another possibility is how Amazon works. Any registered seller on Amazon can easily post anything on their storefronts and add any company as "Publisher" or "Manufacturer."
Unless there was a screenshot of the listing on either Amazon UK or Japan that shows "Sold and Fulfilled by Amazon," this could no more than somebody's big joke that Konami requested to be taken down.
One more possibility is that it could have been an unannounced compilation of both "Metal Gear Solid 5 Phantom Pain" and "Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes." Fans may think that this may actually be better than getting nothing at all, which equates to the pachinko game that Kojima followers despise.
Even reports like from Express are being slammed by skepticism since the so-called screenshot of Venom Snake, holding Gray Fox's helmet is nowhere near any official Tweets from either Konami or Kojima and nothing but a fan tweet.
As sad as it may seem, it may be very unlikely that there's ever going to be any "Metal Gear Solid 5" Chapter 3 unless Konami "played as like a damn fiddle" as per Kaz's ever popular MGS meme. Be sure to check with us again as we await news and updates about "Metal Gear Solid."
