Is there a possibility that "Penny Dreadful" season 4 will finally happen following the earnings that its past season has made for its studio?
When it was announced that the third season was already the last run of the British-American fantasy-horror drama TV series, a number of fans immediately aired out their sentiments about seeing the entire cast in the fourth season.
It even came to a point when they have to start a change.org petition just for them to see their favourite characters back in "Penny Dreadful" season 4.
"We, the undersigned fans of 'Penny Dreadful' collectively known as The Dreadfuls, greatly enjoyed watching Penny Dreadful on SHOWTIME network," the call stated. "The actors, writers, and everyone associated with the TV show are highly skilled and top notch in their respective craft."
"They did a brilliant job in producing the high quality, original, detailed and faithful universe and characters in 'Penny Dreadful,'" the petition added.
The fans insisted that the show must end "in a proper manner" via three possible strategies: "a limited last season run, a different network pick up or a standalone 'Penny Dreadful' film."
With 1,505 registered supporters, as of this writing, will the production team finally hear the fans' call for "Penny Dreadful" season 4?
On Friday, Irish Examiner reported that the filming of the series at the Ardmore studios has earned the Co Wicklow studios profits of €1.34 million, letting the company recover from its losses in 2011 and 2012.
In the meantime, series creator and showrunner John Logan told The Hollywood Reporter back in June that he learned about the fate of the show ending after three seasons only when season 2 was just half-way through.
"It was midway through season two, about two years ago when I was envisioning season three," he said.
