The midseason finale of "Vikings" season 4 was a bloodbath by all accounts, the aftermath of which left its main characters physically and emotionally bruised.

Lagertha was on the throes of death after a vicious stabbing. A wounded Ragnar had to flee after his defeat in the hands of Rollo. Bjorn set on a voyage to the Mediterranean to honor to pay tribute to his absent father

The episode was epic, to say the least, as it gave "Vikings" fans much to ponderon before the series resumes its airing, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The "Vikings" season 4 cast members, knowing fully well their followers were brimming with anticipation, recently gave a preview on what to expect when the series returns for its second half.

Appearing at the San Diego Comic Con, Travis Fimmel (Ragnar Lothbrok), Katheryn Winnick (Lagertha), Alexander Ludwig (Bjorn Ironside), and Gustaf Skarsgård (Floki) shared bits and pieces of the events that were set to unfold on the show.

Winnick revealed that her character Lagertha will be making a comeback, as the actress was currently filming for the show's fifth season.

She teased that the shieldmaiden was in "a different place in her life," as she also bared that there would be a dramatic encounter between Lagertha and Queen Aslaug.

"It's going to be a cat fight. The two power women go head to head," Winnick shared. "It's a really interesting scene because you don't expect what happens."

For his part, Ludwig revealed that Bjorn has been given a lighter storyline in "Vikings" season 4.

"Floki and Bjorn end up going to the Mediterranean, and they work on their tans a little bit," Ludwig related. "You're definitely going to see Floki and Bjorn's relationship flourish."

In the meantime, the full "Vikings" season 4 Comic-Con trailer, shared on YouTube, gave a preview of Lagertha's true emotions.

Based on the teaser, the Earl of Hedeby had an ominous warning for Aslaug.

"I want you to know that I could never forgive you for taking away my husband and my world," Lagertha declared, a statement which harked back to how Aslaug took away Ragnar Lothbrok and stole Lagertha's title in "Vikings" Season 2.
