A copy of "No Man's Sky" was purchased online by a lucky player for big bucks, and Hello Games founder Sean Murray is not happy about it.

A lot of people have been waiting for this highly anticipated open-world space game for years, so it would not come as a surprise if one fan tried to search the internet for a copy, more than a week before the actual release.

Reddit user Daymeeuhn was lucky enough to get his hands on a legitimate copy of "No Man's Sky" on online retail store eBay. The Redditor shelled out a hefty $1,300 for the advance PS4 copy, according to Ars Technica.

Daymeeuhn posted videos of the opening sequence and a 24-minute clip from the game on Dailymotion, which he promptly shared on the "No Man's Sky" Reddit thread. The unboxing video is still on the site, but the gameplay video is already taken down.

While the Reddit poster is overjoyed with his rare purchase, Hello Games' founder is not pleased with the leak, taking to Twitter to express his disappointment.

"We've spent years filling No Man's Sky with surprises," Murray wrote on the social media site. "You've spent years waiting. Please don't spoil it for yourself."

"Take a break from reading about it, and picking vids apart." the "No Man's Sky" creator added. "You can experience for yourself so soon."

Back on Reddit, Daymeeuhn tries to explain and defend his actions.

" I'm in a state of being where I don't look at a purchase and determine the overall value by the price tag," the Redditor wrote, "but rather by how much happiness it will bring myself or the people I care about."

"Some people buy really expensive items for their hobbies or collections," he pointed out. "Some people spend ridiculous amounts of money on liquor or food. For me, this experience is what I spend my money on."

Daymeeuhn then released a final statement on the matter, stating that the reveal has quickly become an unpleasant experience for him.

The Redditor agreed with Murray, saying that there will no longer be spoiler videos apart from those he has already uploaded.

"But for now, I'm going to just play the game, keep to myself and enjoy it," Daymeeuhn concluded.

The official release date for "No Man's Sky" is on August 9 on PS4 and on August 12 on PC.
