Blizzard is hoping to revive its long-running MMORPG "World of Warcraft" with its newest expansion called "Legion."
The popular MMO has been losing a lot of subscribers this year, Cinema Blend reported, and the latest expansion "Legion" may entice players to pick up the game again.
The sixth expansion of "World of Warcraft," following the "Warlords on Draenor"in 2014, was announced at Gamescom 2015. The latest expansion heralds the third invasion of the Burning Legion.
According to Inverse, "Legion" will be giving the players a chance to revisit some of the most important "Warcraft" history. These were previously only showcased in the "Warcraft" books such as "Stormrage" and "Warcraft: War of the Ancients Archive."
The players will also be able to visit the iconic Broken Isles as they will be retracing the steps of legendary Maiev Shadowsong, back to where she and Ilidan Stormrage battled on top of the Tomb of Sargeras.
The expansion will raise the existing level cap from 100 to 110, and will feature artifact weapons for each classes' specializations, which includes the Ashbringer, Doomhammer, Icebringer and more.
The second "Hero Class" demon hunter will also be introduced, joining the death knight introduced in "Wrath of the Lich King." Similar to death knights, demon hunters can either be tanks or damage dealers, but will only have two specializations: Vengeance (tank) and Havoc (damage).
The transmogrification system also goes through a major overhaul and will be expanded to Transmogrify 2.0. This focuses on freeing up Void Storage, bag and bank space by saving the appearance into the UI.
After items have been added to the wardrobe, the player does not need to store them in their inevtory to retain their appearances.
Blizzard will be present at Gamescom this year with Legion Cafe, in celebration of the upcoming expansion launch on August 18-21.
The "Legion" expansion will be launched in Aug. 30, 2016, and is available for pre-order on Blizzard.
