"Red Dead Redemption 2" or "Red Dead 3" will not be announced at Gamescom Expo 2016 as it was confirmed by Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive. When will it actually be announced?

With the previous Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016 (E3) last June, "Red Dead Redemption 2" or the sequel/prequel to John Marston's adventure in the original "Red Dead Redemption," was not present. This brought disappointment to fans who had been eagerly waiting for the game.

Fans turn into the upcoming Gamescom Expe in Cologne, Germany instead this coming August. However, rumors pertaining to the announcement were smashed by Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive's official statement.

Daily Express reported that the studio confirmed that no new Rockstar game will be will be revealed before April 2017. That means, the possibility of getting news about "Red Dead Redemption 2" and its release date is next to none.

"Rockstar Games is of course hard at work on some exciting future projects that will be revealed soon," Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick said.

This was due to a prior announcement that Rockstar Games' submitted release schedule for the financial year.

Still, Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive will still show up in the upcoming Gamescom.

Before the announcements, even online news outlet GamingBolt reported that speculations revolving around the game's reveal on Gamescom "makes no sense." Points made were about the absence of bigger names in the industry like Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo.

According to the post, it would make even more sense to showcase "revealed" games like "Mafia 3," "WWE," or other announced in-development games.

With these, fans may be better off not expecting too much from Gamescom 2016 and the much-awaited reveal of John Marston's return, be that in his younger form or even possibly, being a non-playable character while somebody else takes charge.
