The upcoming third-person shooter game "Gears of War 4" is also coming to PC, and it will not be just a straight up Xbox One port, according to its developers.

Console to PC ports have almost always been less impressive. However, developers The Coalition are adamant that "Gears of War 4" for the PC will be different.

In a tech interview with Eurogamer's Digital Foundry, technical director Mike Rayner confirmed that their aim is to make "Gears of War 4" on PC highly customizable and optimized. For starters, the game will support more options for video settings.

"Today we sit at 28 different settings," Rayner said, "and we're thinking of ways to add more for people to really have full control."

"Along with more settings, we're putting extra time into making it clear what impact a setting will have on GPU/CPU/VRAM so there is a clear correlation between a setting change and its performance impact." Rayner added.

The game will also be getting improved textures on the PC, supporting up to 4K resolution for selected texture groups. The PC version will also have a benchmarking mode and an entirely remappable keyboard and mouse inputs.

"Support for v-sync tearing has recently come to UWP and we will be able to offer proper unlocked frame-rate support that gamers expect on day one," Rayner said.

"With Unreal Engine 4 and our own custom modifications, we can take much better advantage of multiple CPU cores," he continued, "alleviating the game from being CPU-bound and allowing more room for the GPU to shine with enhanced visual quality or higher framerates."

"Gears of War 4" will be one of the first titles to be included in Microsoft's Xbox Play Anywhere inititive, wherein you can buy a game and play it on both console and PC at no additional cost. Other titles included are "Forza Horizon 3," "Recore," "We Happy Few" and "Scalebound."

"Gears of War 4" will be available on Oct. 11.
