The story of Geralt of Rivia in "The Witcher" series has come to an end, and CD Projekt Red confirmed that there will be no "The Witcher" titles anytime soon. Rumor has it, however, that a spinoff title starring one of the game's best girls, Ciri, is in the works.
Apart from CD Projekt Red getting busy with confirmed (and highly anticipated) "The Witcher" spinoff "Gwent: The Witcher Card Game," there is also a possibility that the developers will launch another spinoff title featuring the Princess of Cintra.
According to NSEA Voice, the title is still unknown, but the game is expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2017 with rumored plot to center around Ciri's travels in "The Witcher 3."
CD Projekt Red is never known to announce projects unless they are ready to do so. However, while the idea of Ciri getting her own game is appealing, it is highly unlikely.
The Polish video game studio is currently busy with two of their highly anticipated games, "Gwent" and "Cyberpunk 2077," and as it stands, another spinoff may be out of the question.
On the other hand, the studio did confirm on their financial report that they are working on three separate titles until 2021, Dualshockers reported.
In other news, CD Projekt Red has confirmed a "Game of the Year Edition" for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," according to Eurogamer.
"Many gamers have asked us if we're working on some sort of a Game of the Year Edition," Game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz told Eurogamer in a statement. "I'm happy to confirm - yes, plans are in motion to release such an edition."
"We'll release more details, including the release date, in the future," the director added.
This information came about due to "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year Edition" being rated in Germany, as discovered by lifelower on Twitter.
