The next in line for Google's smartphone series may be within arm's reach as numerous reports and rumors point to its August release date. Still, with no official word from the company itself, the anticipation just gets bigger.

In an earlier report from TechRadar, however, Google's next smartphone may be coming out either September or October this year. This is due to the fact that Google's not even done with its finishing touches with Android OS version "Nougat."

Techradar's price estimates are, more often than not, on point so people can expect the price to be at least a tad bit cheaper than most flagship models from various brands. This is, of course, without sacrificing quality.

Getting the handset may be subjective, especially for those who already got the "Nexus 6P." For one, reports hinted that the next Nexus smartphone may be a smaller 5-inch handset than its predecessors that were between 5.7 to 5.95-inches. This may need another getting used to.

There's also a big possibility of it being powered by Snapdragon 821, which qualcomm just recently launched. For power users, this could be beneficial. Especially to those who do heavy gaming with their phablets.

Memory's another thing to consider as it would likely be getting a 4GB storage. That's 25 percent more than the former Nexus 6P. Again, this gives the upcoming Nexus 2016 the needed juice that may be required with Android Nougat.

As with everything else, it is safe to expect that we'll get all the nice things we've got from the earlier iterations of Nexus. From fingerprint scanner, to more than adequate cameras that can give us 4k videos at 30 frames per second and 12-megapixel still captures.

Aside from the rumored Nexus smartwatches that are also being made alongside, people may also expect Google's more focused integration of virtual reality (VR). The search engine giant just announced "Daydream" VR playform last May. This could be the case with Nexus 2016 onwards.
