With Kevin Durant recently joining the Golden State Warriors, fans are now asking how that would translate to a powerhouse lineup in "NBA 2K17." Sports site Bleacher Report gave us the answer in a hilarious viral video.
The clip, which was posted with a brief article written by Bleacher Report's Laura Depta, depicted the players of the Golden State Warriors as towering giants, with supersized versions of Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala playing against relatively smaller players of Cleveland Cavaliers.
"How would an All-Star lineup with two league MVPs even work in video game mode?," Depta wrote. "How is NBA 2K17 going to handle this?"
The video quickly went viral, according to CBS, with the video shared over 125,000 times and viewed over 6 million times in a short amount of time.
This hilarious video came about after 2014 NBA Most Valuable Player Durant announced that he will be signing with the Warriors.
The primary mandate I had for myself in making this decision was to have it based on the potential for my growth as a player - as that has always steered me in the right direction," Durant said in an official statement. "But I am also at a point in my life where it is of equal importance to find an opportunity that encourages my evolution as a man."
"Moving out of my comfort zone to a new city and community which offers the greatest potential for my contribution and personal growth," Durant continued. "With this in mind, I have decided that I am going to join the Golden State Warriors."
Bleacher Report's video might be a funny take on the news, but it could well be true. Durant's big switch to the Warriors will render the team completely overpowered, and possibly kill the competitive balance of "NBA 2K17."
The same issue was brought up by Forbes, which said that when LeBron James joined the Miami Heat, which already had NBA superstars Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in the roster, players had a significant advantage using the super team in "NBA 2K" from 2K12 - 2K14.
It seems that we'll be seeing other "NBA 2K" players actually banning people from picking the overpowered Warriors moving forward, and some Twitter users plan to do just that.
