Steam's annual Summer Sale is now in full swing, and developers are slapping some huge discounts on their popular titles, and with markdowns from 75% to even 90%, it's hard to control oneself from buying everything.

Here we compile a few handy tips on how to survive this week's Steam Summer Sale. Read up and your wallet will thank you.

Use That Wishlist

Steam has a handy wishlist tab where you can keep, err, tabs on your favorite games. Steam will notify you via email whenever a wishlist item is discounted, so you can jump on the site and buy it right away. You can do that, or wait until a better discount price comes along.

No More Daily Deals or Flash Sales

Steam has already changed the way it conducts its annual sales, according to Eurogamer. In the absence of Daily Deals and Flash Sales, you might want to focus on the "highlighted deals" instead.

So in case you do miss it, don't fret, because due to the changes, that game's price will remain the same until the end of the sale.

Read Reviews First

Before grabbing that cool-looking RPG at 90% off, try checking if it's worth the purchase in the first place. Go check up on reviews to help you decide whether you'll put that game in your cart or not.

Look for Useful Resources on The Internet

The internet can be a scary place, but sometimes, it's not so bad. There are tons of Steam resources online that can help you with your Steam Sale shopping experience.

Steam DB offers a quick rundown of the entire Steam Sale, including ratings, highest recorded discount, and for how long the deal is for.

Reddit is also a useful resource for the Steam Sale, which features highlighted deals and prices. They also have a dedicated Hidden Gems thread where you can find some underrated game titles which have little to no chance of being featured.

This year's Steam Summer Sale runs until July 4 at 10:00am PT.
