The latest confirmed update on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 7 suggests that the tablet will consist of an Iris scanner. The reports are that the new functionality has been added by the South Korean giant in order to provide extra security to the tablet users.

GMS Arena reported that the rumors about the Iris scanner in the Galaxy Note 7 were confirmed when a leaked image of a beta firmware recently emerged on PriceRaja. The reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Beta Program showcased a new option for the Iris scanner in the Privacy settings.

Besides, Australia News Network reported that the even the renders of the Galaxy Note 7 have sported extra sensors for the Iris scanning purpose.

Earlier, there were reports that the upcoming Samsung device will include an Iris scanner. These rumors surfaced when the company opted for the trademark listings of the terms, Samsung Iris and Samsung Eyeprint.

At present, even though the reports, that the Iris Scanner has been confirmed for the Galaxy Note 7, are doing rounds all over the internet, there is no official word on the same by Samsung authorities.

Moving on, IB Times reported that the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 7 device will feature the Android 6.0.1 Marshmellow operating system. Previously, there were rumors that the new tablet will consist of the upcoming Android N OS. But, the latest reports suggest that if the Samsung release cycle is taken into consideration, then the Galaxy Note 7 would be released way ahead of the Android N OS.

Meanwhile, there are reports that the Galaxy Note 7 tablet will feature Snapdragon 821 processor and 6 GB RAM. The upcoming Samsung tablet will also consist of 4000 mAh battery power along with a 5.8-inch screen, reported CNET. The Note 7 will also consist of a 3.5 mm audio jack port, speaker grill, a USB Type-C port and the facility for a Stylus Pen.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is expected to be released in mid-August, 2016.
