"Clash of Clans" just received a huge patch update for May last week. Mobile & Apps has reported the new additions to Supercell's flagship game, including the new Friendly Challenge, the Skeleton Spell, troop level upgrades, and more.
However, there were some players who reported that the new update's notifications scheme is a tad annoying, sending "Your troops need a leader!" and "Oops, did you forget to train your army?" more often than needed. The players posted their concerns on "Clash of Clans"' Reddit page. Some players complained that they are getting notifications literally a few seconds after they close the app, and some are even getting notifications twice in ten minutes. There were other times when the players are reminded to create spells even if they already have one in progress, or they are out of elixir.
Thankfully, Supercell has resolved this issue. The developer has released an optional update that limits the number of notifications received by the players.
Prior to this update, a workaround was given to Android users, courtesy of Redditor /u/kniteshade. The Redditor suggested using a combination of Tasker and Notification Listener to filter the unnecessary "Clash of Clans" notifications. "For those on Android, its possible to set up Tasker and Notification Listener so it'll auto-dismiss notifications that match specific rules," the Redditor posted. "So I have mine set to kill anything with 'raided' 'are ready' 'shield has run out' and 'guard' to kill all the inane stuff, but I still see the war-related notifications, and when upgrades complete."
Unfortunately, as of that time, there were no quick fixes for iOS users, unless they turn off all notifications for the game, which would have made them miss the important ones.
Apart from this glitch, the May update is a huge success, with Design & Trend reporting that it is one of the best "Clash of Clan" updates to date.
