Supercell's flagship game Clash of Clans has just released more details of its massive May patch update on its official blog.

A new 'Skeleton spell' is added at Town Hall 9, allowing players to summon a skeleton army on the battlefield, at a cost of only one Dark Elixir. Design & Trend reported that the Skeleton spell is effective for disrupting the troops. For destroying towers and buildings, however, it is said the spell is not very effective. The report also pointed out that the Dark Spell Factory can now be upgraded up to level 4. While this was not mentioned anywhere on the blog, it is evident on the video at around 0:15. Another major feature of the recent update is the addition of the Friendly Challenge. Clanmates can now attack one another without any penalties, which means no gold, troops, spells, heroes or traps will be deducted from the player's stash. This allows players to do unlimited practice runs with another clan member to test their new defensive layouts or strategies, or if they just want to challenge each other for fun. Note, however, that no bonuses, resources, or Trophies can be gained on this mode either. Read more about the Friendly Challenge here.

The May update also said that some troops will be getting new levels. At Townhall 11, Cannons can be upgraded up to level 14, Lava Hounds at level 4, and Balloons at level 7. These changes will breathe new life to air units, which are usually neglected at higher Townhall levels. For Townhall 7 and above, Spring Traps can now be upgraded to level 5. Bowlers are also getting an update, reducing their housing space from 8 to 6.

Supercell has also made a few fixes to the overall game. New features were added to the Edit Mode, making layout editing easier. Players can now also donate fully trained troops and spells from the production queue even if their army is full. The Clan War Logs are now also available for public view, but Clans can turn it off anytime by changing the settings.

Clash of Clan fans were disappointed with the previous updates, causing a lot of high-level players to leave the game. Supercell is hoping that the latest patch update is enough to get these players back into the game.
