Studio Wildcard released the latest patch for its open-world dinosaur survival video game, 'ARK: Survival Evolved'.

The update introduces a new island called Redwood Forest, expanding the Snow Biome area. Studio Wildcard apologized to players for the drastic change on their post about the latest update, saying that the changes would need to be done for the development of the game.

The developer also mentioned on the blog that 3D markers are also added to let the players know which areas will be changed, and where the new biomes will be added to the map. This is to allow affected players to relocate their bases if necessary.

The 763 Patch includes a bug fix that cleared out all dinosaurs on the map called 'The Center', due to a number of glitches. Some areas in the map, Lava Island for example, spawned a huge number of dinosaurs and other creatures, causing a drop in performance. For Xbox One owners who are running their own dedicated server, this could also cause a server crash, Inquistr reported.

The save issue for single-player and non-dedicated servers for the game has been fixed. The previous patch caused issues with the file path for the save, and the new patch will allow players to gain access to their old saves again. Bad news, however, for the dedicated-server owners, as they would have no way of accessing their old saves anymore. Studio Wildcard ensures that this will not happen again in the future with the latest patch.

Players can now pick up and throw Dodos, Dung Beetles, and Kairuku (or penguins). The Arthropluera (Giant Milipede) can now be set as a turret, guarding the players against attacks from other creatures or players. The Bola, a weapon used to disable a creature or player by throwing it at an opponents feet, was nerfed, reducing the trap time for humans from 30 to 15 seconds. Additionally, players would now need a little Hide to craft a bola.
