Last year, we heard about the social network's plan to add a new feature and then remove an older feature that this new feature will replace. And it seems like it has started with that goal this January. Facebook is said to be removing its three-year old photo syncing feature, which it has announced to be replaced with another better, more improved feature that will help achieve more consumer satisfaction.

The photo sync feature, which was first introduced in 2012, is a feature that users can activate to upload their photos into their Facebook account automatically through their handheld devices. There are also options to review the photos or choose which ones to share or to delete before they are uploaded into the user's private album on their social media.

During those times, the feature has enjoyed great success as it was a first of its own at that time and users were still kind of using their desktop computers or laptops to upload their photos. The idea of uploading a photo directly from the phone that was used to take it is alluring and easier for users who are getting tired of having to plug their phones or their memory cards into a computer to upload their photos online. Imagine cutting that long process a bit shorter, and they have one or more happy customers at their feet.

Last year, in December, Facebook sent out notifications to their users announcing that their support for the photo sync feature is coming to an end. During this time, the social network has also announced about its latest photo app which is called the "Moments app." The social media says that users can move their photos to this app, which will serve as replacement for the now-being-phased-out photo sync app.

Like its predecessor, with the Moments app, users can view their photos and delete, share and download them. The photos can also be downloaded as a collection in the form of a zip file or can also be directly deleted within their social media profile page.
