When "Homeland" Season 6 airs in January, fans and viewers of the show can expect more "close-to-reality" terrorism plots and exciting scenes from the cast and people behind the TV series. Many have praised the show for depicting tales of terrorism which were almost the same as the plots in different parts of the world.
Set in the United States
The upcoming season of "Homeland" will be set in the United States as Carrie Mathison returns to her home country. Showrunner Alex Gansa said viewers can expect a different offering for 2017.
"Last season, world events tragically caught up to the story we were telling," he explained. "We knew we were going to New York and back to the United States and didn't want to dramatize any threats to the United States - and to New York specifically - that don't actually exist."
He, however, noted that the team behind "Homeland" Season 6 will try to localize terrorism plots and adopt a "countdown" style of presenting threats. The showrunner expressed that they are looking forward on how television viewers will adapt to the changes they have for the next installment.
Advanced episode release
Though the show is set to air on January 15, 2017, Showtime has already made the Season 6 premiere available for Showtime subscribers. The first episode can be viewed through online streaming and on other platforms made available by the network for its viewers.
"Homeland" Season 6's story starts after Carrie's successful mission to stop an attack in Berlin. The former CIA officer has already left the job she has dedicated her life to and is now connected to a foundation which fights for the rights of Muslims living in America.
The early treat for Showtime subscribers is something that fans did not expect from the network. Are you excited to watch the first episode of "Homeland" Season 6?
