Apple Australia has been in hot water following an incident where six teenagers of African descent got kicked out at their store. Based on a video recorded by one of these students an Apple employee is heard saying that their guys who happen to be their security guards were a bit worried about their presence in their store. The employee further said that they were worried that the students might steal something.

When one of the teenagers asked why they will steal something, the employee just said it was the end of discussion and made them leave the store without further explanations. The video that caught this interaction was then posted on Facebook with a caption "simply racism." It went on to gather almost 60,000 times of views after it was posted.

Following the incident, Apple Australia has confirmed to the AFP on Nov. 12, Thursday, that their store manager has already apologized to the students and to their school principal Nick Scott when they returned on Wednesday at their store.

Scott who is the principal of Maribyrnong College told AFP that some of these six students of his were in fact born in Australia and have parents who are migrants or refugees. Their school itself is located among the poorest and most multicultural suburbs in Melbourne.

He said that he accompanied his students to the Apple store because the teens were worried as Apple product buyers that they would be banned from the said store. Scott further adds that all he has hoped to do was just to ask Apple Australia to reassure his students that they would be always welcome. He was happy that it was done and that the store did it with good grace.

Following the incident, Apple's CEO Tim cook posted a message that said that Apple wants every person who joins their team, every consumer who are visiting their stores or someone who is just calling for assistance to feel welcome. Apple believes in equality for everyone, regardless of age, gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.

Apple also issued a statement saying that they would do everything in their power to ensure that all their consumers will be treated the way they should be. The company further states that inclusion and diversity have been among Apple's core values. Apple believed in equality for everyone. That applied throughout their company and stores worldwide with no exceptions. Apple had looked into the situation's detail and thus apologized to the persons involved.
