Apple's scheduled big event today is the talk of the tech community and the excitement is as palpable as the iPhone rumors that have been circulating around since the unveiling of iOS 9. Strangely enough, CNet editor Seamus Byrne tweeted out a picture of someone camping outside the Apple store in Sydney. While this may be a prudent decision to get ahead of the others, Apple has not even (technically) announced a device just yet.
So what can we expect from today's event? Apple has a knack for presentations and while Siri keeps teasing iPhone users with new responses about the upcoming event, we can expect at least three major topics to be covered.
The New iPhone
At the heart of every Apple event is a new phone. This year, iPhone 6s will take center stage and, hopefully, give Apple a boost in wall street. Unless the company has a bigger surprise in stall, we can expect the next iPhone to have a faster processor, better cameras and better designs. The Force Touch technology will also be one of the features to be included in the new model. Although Huawei has beaten them to the punch with the Mate S, we can expect Apple to do it with flair anyway.
The Apple TV
While some tech sites believe that this is Apple's answer to the console wars that Playstation and Xbox has been waging, we believe this is an approach to casual gaming instead. While the company may indeed market new titles, it's unlikely that they'll take on the console giants with its own set of hardcore games. It is more likely than not, that Apple will continue to churn out good mobile games that can be translated well into Apple TV. The company also recently introduced a new gaming centered Twitter account.
Apart from this, we expect the Apple TV to be the central hub for Apple's future plans on the internet of things. Connecting various electronic appliances managed by your smartphone is the future and Samsung already showed their hand last September 3. We can expect Apple to show us something better.
The iOS 9 and Siri
The operating system and its virtual assistant may be behind other brands but Apple insists that their version will not invade your privacy in any way. Most of the features you will see with Siri has already become a staple in the new version of the Android OS. We certainly hope Apple has something up its sleeve to wow the crowd.
