The impressive ASUS ZenFone 2 is now available for pre-order in all colors and options, including the model with 4GB of RAM on board.

ASUS took the wraps off its new ZenFone 2 powerhouse back in January at the CES 2015 trade show in Las Vegas, but did not offer any specific availability details at that point. The ASUS ZenFone 2 stirred lots of interest upon its announcement not only because it is a very capable device, but also because it comes as the world's first smartphone to rock a whopping 4G of RAM under the hood.

The ASUS ZenFone 2 has now gone up for pre-order on AliExpress, available in two variants and multiple color options.

More specifically, the ASUS ZenFone 2 comes in two versions. The lower-end model packs a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3560 quad-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz and paired with 2GB of RAM, while the higher-end variant packs a more powerful 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz and paired with a whopping 4GB of RAM.

Otherwise, the two ASUS ZenFone 2 models share the same specifications, including a 5.5-inch Full HD display (1920 x 1080 pixels, 443ppi), 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB internal storage configurations, microSD support for additional memory of up to 64GB, a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, auto focus, dual-color flash and zero shutter lag, a 5-megapixel front shooter with f/2.0 aperture and wide-angle 85-degree lens, a 3,000 mAh battery with fast-charging technology, and dual-SIM support (micro-SIM standard). On the software side, the handset runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with ASUS Zen UI on top.

The ASUS ZenFone 2 variant with 2GB of RAM is now available for pre-order from AliExpress with a $299.99 price tag, while the higher-end variant with 4GB of RAM under the hood goes up to $439.99. Available color options, meanwhile, include Ceramic White, Osmium Black, Glamor Red, Glacier Gray, and Sheer Gold.

No details are available at this point regarding when the ASUS ZenFone 2 will start shipping to pre-order customers, as the seller on AliExpress is TopMall China and delivery dates will vary depending on region and shipping may apparently take up to 60 days.
