HTC is apparently planning on launching another mid-range handset soon enough, as specifications for an unannounced HTC A12 have just leaked online.

Rumors surrounding HTC have recently focused on the upcoming HTC One M9 (Hima), which is expected to debut in March 2015 as the company's next flagship smartphone. The purported HTC One M9, however, is not the only handset in HTC's workshop, as a mid-range HTC A12 has now surfaced online with a detailed list of alleged specifications.

The information comes from tipster upleaks, who offered accurate details regarding unannounced devices on several occasions in the past. According to this new leak, the upcoming HTC A12 will feature a 4.7-inch display with a 720p HD resolution and pack a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor under the hood, clocked at 1.2GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM.

Other specs of the purported HTC A12 reportedly include an 8-megapixel main camera on its rear, a 1.3-megapixel front shooter, and a 2,100 mAh battery. On the software side, the handset is expected to launch with Android 4.4 KitKat on board out of the box, with HTC's own Sense 5.3 (OEM Desire Sense 6.0) UI on top.

Upleaks further revealed the smartphone's alleged dimensions, noting that the HTC A12 will measure 139.8 x 69.5 x 9.5 mm. The leak lists the expected launch date as February 2015, which suggests that HTC may take the wraps off its new A12 mid-ranger ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 trade show. In 2015, the MWC will take place in early March, not February. The HTC A12 will reportedly hit all four major carriers in the U.S. - Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile next year.

Keep in mind, however, that HTC has offered no official information regarding plans to launch a mid-range A12, which means that it all remains in the rumor state at this point.

It remains unclear for now just when this purported HTC A12 will actually hit retail, or how much it will cost when it does. If the company does indeed plan to launch this device in February, however, more details will likely surface closer to the event.

We'll keep you up to date as soon as more information becomes available, so check back. In the meantime, it is highly recommended to take all leaks, rumors, and speculation with a hefty grain of salt, even if the source has a good track record.
