Google is widely expected to unveil new Nexus devices this month or early next month and the purported Nexus 6 from Motorola has now leaked again.

Both a new tablet and a new smartphone are expected to join the Nexus lineup soon, and both are rumored to sport different sizes compared to the Nexus hardware we've seen so far. Moreover, both the Nexus smartphone and the tablet are expected to have higher-end specs and a more premium design, which could result in higher price tags compared to typical Nexus devices.

The tablet is rumored to come from HTC and launch as the Nexus 9, boasting an 8.9-inch display. For the smartphone, meanwhile, Google reportedly moved away from LG, who made the last two Nexus smartphones, and went for the company it recently sold to Lenovo.

More specifically, Motorola has a smartphone in the works with the codename "Shamu," which will reportedly launch as the Nexus 6. The purported handset has leaked on several occasions so far, with various reports trying to paint a picture of what to expect in terms of specs, features, and design.

Just recently, the folks over at Android Police have created a mockup of the device based on leaks, and the publication is now at it again. This time, however, instead of a mockup Android Police has obtained images of the device in the wild.

While this is not the first time that this purported Motorola Shamu device, aka the Nexus 6, leaks in images, these are the clearest photos so far. The new images (see above) also fall in line with previous leaks and reports.

The phone seen in these photos has a protective case of some sort, which makes it rather difficult to get a good look at the complete edge. Nonetheless, the buttons appear to be located toward the middle of the device, as previously rumored, and the handset seems to have front-facing speakers, a headphone jack toward the center, and the latest Android L with some notable UI changes.

Android Police also points out that the phone's status bar shows an intriguing icon - a heart - which could be related to Google Fit or something like it. Lastly, the Nexus 6 was rumored to come with a massive 5.9-inch display, but the device leaked in these images doesn't look that big. The angle of the photos may have something to do with it, but it remains unclear at this point.

As always, keep in mind that leaks and rumors don't always turn out to be accurate, so make sure to take everything with a grain of salt until an official announcement.
