Some Apple users continue to have issues even after installing the new iOS 8.0.2, and many are experiencing new issues after the update.
Things just don't seem to be getting better with Apple's operating system, as reports of various issues keep piling up. First, the iOS 8 launch was botched due to some bug that forced Apple to pull all HealthKit-related apps from the App Store. The company then rolled out iOS 8.0.1 to fix issues, but instead the update caused more harm than it did good, leaving many users without cellular service or Touch ID functionality.
On Friday, Sept. 26, Apple rolled out iOS 8.0.2 to fix the issues caused by the previous iOS 8.0.1, but it again looks like the update did more damage in the process. Multiple users have been reporting several problems since installing the latest iOS 8.0.2.
More specifically, users reported experiencing issues with cellular service, Bluetooth, wireless connectivity, text messages (non-iMessage), random reboots, Safari issues, and battery life, among the highlights.
"I just got my iPhone 6. I heard about all the problems with 8.0.1. So I made sure first that my iTunes was up to date. I have the latest version 11.4. I downloaded version 8.0.2 to my phone. So now my iTunes in my Mac and my new iPhone have the latest versions by my phone still says 'No service.' I can't make calls," one user complained on a thread on Apple's forum.
"Sound level meter gone from my iPad 3rd gen. Changing volume used to bring up the meter on screen. Not there. Apps still crashing like crazy," wrote another user.
"Apple, are you kidding me? I upgraded my iPhone 5 to the new iOS 8.0.2 (only because I was forced to - as apps that I use would not update without the upgrade) and now my cellular service is dead. I am a US resident, on AT&T and I was told NOT to upgrade to 8.0.1 because of the same issue, and now its happening again. I have been an Apple customer for 8 years, but I think I need to stop buying apple products, including the new iPhone 6," lashed out another disgruntled customer. "Way a go Apple - this is how you lose your customers by being indifferent. Its really surprising how one of the biggest companies in the world is so apathetic to its long time customers."
Apple's discussions forum is full of such complaints and more reports are piling up as we speak. An increasing number of users seem to be experiencing various issues since upgrading to iOS 8.0.2, and the problems are far from minor.
Some users reported losing connectivity with phone calls and non-iMessage text messages, others reported severe battery drainage following the update, others said their Wi-Fi is no longer working, or getting very poor reception, and many still can't make calls because they have no cellular service. The Safari app is apparently posing some challenges as well, as it is reportedly not accepting certain passwords and is unable to properly display some websites.
Apple has yet to issue a statement regarding these issues with its latest iOS 8.0.2, but things look pretty bad for the company. If you have installed the new iOS 8.0.2, drop by our comment section below and let us know whether you have experienced any of the above-listed issues, or others.
