The much-rumored Samsung Galaxy Note Neo, or "Lite," as it was previously dubbed, has appeared in its first images, posing alongside the flagship Galaxy Note 3.
While a recent report detailed many of the Galaxy Note 3 Neo's purported specs, a new report now offers more spec details, its AnTuTu benchmark score, and a few photos showing the device alongside the flagship Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
The new information comes from SamMobile, which posted the very first images of the purported Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo. The photos show that the lighter, watered-down version will be slightly smaller than the flagship Galaxy Note 3, but will feature the same design cues, including the faux-leather back plate and side pattern. The Note 3 Neo's S Pen is located on the same area as the original Galaxy Note 3 and the two devices look virtually the same, albeit for the size and the camera module.
In terms of specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo will boast a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and a pixel density of 256 pixels per inch (ppi). The phablet will reportedly come in two versions - HSPA+ (SM-N750) and 4G LTE (SM-N7505).
The Galaxy Note 3 Neo will also pack the industry's first hexa-core processor, consisting of Samsung's own Exynos 5260 hexa-core chipset with Heterogeneous Multi-Processing (HMP) capabilities. It will use two 1.7GHz cores and four 1.3GHz cores with ARM Mali-T264 graphics, allowing all six cores to be active at the same time.
The phablet will further pack an 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording capabilities, as well as a 2.1-megapixel front-facing shooter. It will come with 16GB of internal storage capacity and 2GB of RAM, while connectivity options will include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS, NFC, and an IR blaster. A 3,100 mAh battery will keep things up and running. On the software side, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo will reportedly ship with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and Samsung's TouchWiz Nature UX on top.
According to SamMobile, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo scored a solid 29,000 points in AnTuTu benchmark tests, ranking behind the Galaxy Note 3 but ahead of the Galaxy S4.
The publication expects Samsung to unveil its Galaxy Note 3 Neo at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 next month. Until Samsung makes an official announcement, however, take all leaks, rumors and reports with a grain of salt.
