The yet-to-be-announced Motorola Moto G has leaked with more specs and pricing details, shaping up as the company's upcoming budget smartphone.
Motorola is apparently planning an enticing holiday promotion that will include its upcoming low-cost handset, the much-rumored Moto G. A newly-leaked promo card from the company does not only show a festive theme, but also seems to confirm the Moto G's specs.
The promo card was reportedly destined for UK retailer Phones4U, but GSMArena got its hands on it and posted it online for everyone to see. The Moto G first leaked on Motorola's website a few days ago, giving a glimpse into the company's plans to take on the low-end smartphone market.
According to the newly-leaked promo card, the upcoming Moto G will come as a mid-range smartphone with decent specs and a killer price tag. The handset will reportedly sport a 4.5-inch edge-to-edge display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, topped by Gorilla Glass protection.
Under the hood, the Moto G will pack a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The smartphone will come with 8GB of internal storage capacity and will run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box. Considering that Motorola's parent company is now Google, the Moto G is also expected to receive a future update to the latest Android 4.4 KitKat.
Other specs include a 5-megapixel rear camera with 720p HD video recording capabilities, as well as a 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter. The Moto G is expected to have a 1,950 mAh battery. It remains unclear at this point however, just how much RAM the smartphone will feature and whether it will have a Micro SD card slot for additional memory. Motorola will reportedly offer interchangeable back panels for the smartphone, allowing users to easily change the look of their Moto G.
The budget Moto G smartphone from Motorola is expected to become official in the coming days. With the lucrative holiday shopping season coming up, the Moto G could be in great demand if it launches with the leaked price tag. According to GSMArena's tipster, the handset will cost £134.95, i.e. $215 unsubsidized, off-contract. The specifications may not be top-notch, but it's a decent smartphone and the price point is quite attractive.
