Amazon is offering the 32GB Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 for $169.99, allowing for considerable savings over the carrier's $249.99 price for the higher-capacity smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is the company's latest Galaxy flagship smartphone and is considered one of the best Android handsets currently available on the market. The smartphone comes with top-notch specs and innovative features, as well as a slew of Samsung-exclusive goodies.

When the Galaxy S4 initially made its debut, the 8GB version of the smartphone drew a firestorm of criticism because it left ridiculously little storage space actually available to the user. The 16GB version would be an alternative, but AT&T and Verizon decided to offer even higher-capacity models for storage-hungry users.

AT&T and Verizon are currently the only carriers to sell the 32GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 in the U.S. AT&T was the first to launch this model, with Verizon adding it to its lineup later on. Both carriers are selling the 32GB Galaxy S4 for $249.99.

For those unfamiliar with the handset, the Samsung Galaxy S4 sports a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 441 pixels per inch (ppi), topped with Gorilla Glass protection. Under the hood, the smartphone packs a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.9GHz and 2GB of RAM. Available storage configurations include 8GB, 16GB and 32GB.

Other specs include a 13-megapixel rear camera with auto flash, zero shutter lag and 1080p recording capabilities at 30fps, as well as a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter for self-shots and video calls. In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy S4 supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, 4G LTE, and infrared LED universal remote control. A large 2,600 mAh removable battery keeps things up and running. The handset runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, but should receive an update to Android 4.3 very soon.
