The availability, existence and release of Motorola's highly rumored X phone are still cannot be seen, but the rumors about the phone are getting bigger and weirder day by day.

As the rumors about the X phone coming with customizable hardware are dying down slowly, more rumors about the phone are cropping up and the main thing is that they are more bizarre than the earlier ones.

According to new rumors, the Google-Motorola baby will come with many color options and the number of choice is said to be going over 20 colors.

"It looks like there will be a pretty impressive choice of color options for customers looking at the X Phone. The numbers are still in flux, but the word is that Motorola and Google want to give users the choice of color, and that the choice may be over 20 different colors," Phone Arena reported quoting its sources.

It seems that rumors related to this smartphone are getting wild with time. Initial rumors about the device were related to its features and the operating system like rumors about any other smartphone. But, now the rumors look like they are coming directly from someone's wildest imaginations and have got nothing to with reality.

The rumors about the phone coming with over 20 color options looks completely impossible because of production related issues.

Motorola knows that it might not be able to beat the giants like Apple and Samsung with this phone, but it (if it exists anywhere in the universe) will definitely attract a huge demand like Google's Nexus devices. In a case like this meeting the demand with 20 different color options will give suppliers and retailers really hard time.

Apple and Samsung, who receive huge orders for their smartphones, also stick to the two-color strategy so they can keep up with the demand and supply. Moreover, the chances of getting a part of the stock stagnant, becomes too high with giving so many options to customers especially when it is color.

Many companies introduce a new color variant mostly to juice up the demand for the smartphone or when it is order by a particular retailer or carrier exclusively.

If Motorola-Google X phone, by some chance, gets into 20 different cloths; the company might manage to keep the supply going but for such a high-end device people go crazy after accessories too.

As most of the accessories have to be in a proper color combination, suppliers will get into another uphill task.

The X phone is rumored to be coming during this year's Google I/O which is just two months away from today. And in this case, the number of variants will be just impossible to produce. There are also reports that the phone will be released somewhere after August this year.

At the other end, Eric Schmidt, Google's executive chairman recently said that the Motorola's upcoming products are "phenomenal."

He was speaking at the D: Dive Into Mobile conference in New York City, and responding to queries about Motorola's upcoming devices.

"They have a new set of products, which are phenomenal," Schmidt told All Things D. "Very, very impressive."
