Suddenly, rumors related to the next-generation iPad have started surfacing over the Internet and the frequency of them has also increased in the last days. The latest rumors came in the form of some leaked images that show the latest molds of iPad 5 case.

According to the allegedly leaked pictures posted by Tactus, the design and thickness of the iPad 5 will be more inspired by the iPad mini and it will be as thin as the iPad mini. The display size of the iPad 5 is going to be the same, at 9.7-inches, but the width of the tablet will definitely be decreased, as it is going to come with very thin bezels.

The tablet is also said to be a lot lighter and the pictures show that the speakers of the tablet will be placed at the bottom, flanking the Lightning connector.

The biggest revelation from the report is that the iPad 5 would be announced on June 18, during the Worldwide Developer's Conference (WWDC).

According to the report, the iPad 5 will be up for grabs just after nine days from its launch, on June 27.

The June release rumors are not new, as different analysts have been predicting the arrival of the iPad 5 at different times. In December last year, Jefferies analyst Peter Misek predicted that the tablet would come sometime in June 2013. He had also predicted that the device would come with a thin bezel and be thinner and lighter than its predecessors.

In February this year, industry analyst of the market research firm TrendForce, Eric Chiou had also predicted almost the same specifications of the iPad 5 but placed the release date in the third quarter.

"Firstly, for the improvement on product design itself, the next generation of iPad will apply the thin GF2 touch module of the same level as iPad mini and use the narrow bezel panel design to solve the issue of larger volume, thickness, and weight that have been criticized to gain a better balance for consumers in mobility and visual experiences," Chiou had predicted.

Before this, in the month of January, Ming-Chi Kuo, analyst at KGI Securities, who shot to fame and earned the respect of Apple fans when he predicted Apple's product launch and other details of the new devices accurately in 2012, said that the new iPad (iPad 5) will adopt the design from the iPad mini and introduce a narrow border design in the 9.7-inch iPad.

Kuo also predicts the iPad 5's arrival in the third quarter of this year. The second-generation iPad mini might also come on the market at the same time.

Reports also suggest that the iPad 5 will be launched running iOS 6 and not iOS 7, as iOS 7 is already behind its schedule, and Apple is planning to launch the new iOS with the next iPhone.
