RIM's much-awaited BlackBerry 10 launch event is just days away and we've already got a glimpse of the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone's press shots, what it will pack under the hood, and even a video of how the handset stacks up against the iPhone 5! Now a leaked internal listing from UK retailer Carphone Warehouse has disclosed that the SIM-free version of the BlackBerry Z10 will cost £479.95 (approximately $758).
The leaked internal screenshot is courtesy Engadget and the description discloses the price for a white BlackBerry Z10 to be £479.95.
"Thanks to an anonymous tipster, it appears that the SIM-free version of RIM's Z10 will cost UKers a cool £480 at Carphone Warehouse," reported Engadget. "The leak comes from what's said to be a snapshot of the company's internal database, listing the white variant. The attached BLAZ10WHI model number also syncs up nicely with the previous slip from the retailer."
Of late, innumerable leaked photographs of the alleged BlackBerry Z10 smartphone have surfaced online. Rumors have been rife that the smartphone will be available in both black and white, and will hit the Canadian shelves on Feb. 5.
Just last week, reports claimed that the BlackBerry Z10 would cost less than $199 on a two-year contract. The $758 price point is for the unsubsidized version, so the under $199 pricing could well bear fruition.
With the Jan. 30 event knocking at the door, we will soon know what surprises RIM has up its sleeve. Time will tell if the BlackBerry Z10 can live up to all the surrounding hype and give a fillip to the Canadian smartphone maker's fortunes.
