The Nokia Lumia 920 is considered to be the cream of the crop when it comes to Windows Phone 8 devices. The handset is powerful, has a plethora of features that are not found on other Windows Phone 8 devices, and it has the Nokia logo attached.
However, it appears that the Nokia Lumia 920 that stole our hearts, is already obsolete. According to a China Mobile tweet on Twitter, the Nokia Lumia 920T, which is the Chinese version, is more powerful than the Lumia 920. This device is expected to feature a newer version of the Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, along with an Adreno 320 GPU.
The original Lumia 920, as one would expect, features an older version of the processor along with Adreno 225 GPU. By comparison, the Lumia 920T is three times faster than the Lumia 920, which means things like games and video playback should improve considerably. It is not certain what led to the decision to release a better version of the Lumia 920 in China, and why that same version was omitted from being released worldwide.
Nokia and Windows Phone 8 fans may not be too happy about this omission, though Nokia's move could be related to price than anything else. The Lumia 920 is already too expensive, imagine if it had inside what the Lumia 920T is boasting! Nokia would have been putting itself in unnecessary trouble. One thing is for certain, a Nokia Lumia device with the Lumia 920T's specifications would be available for the international market, but it won't be any time soon.
Keep an eye out for such a device in 2013 when things are heating up in the Windows Phone 8 space.
