Samsung has been supporting Olympians and Paralympians for many years. However, its recent engagement in Paris 2024 was groundbreaking.
After the passion for sports is over, the firm has presented some of the most inspiring performances during the games. Samsung was, therefore, instrumental in defining the heart of the Olympics through technologies, athlete promotions, and other features.
Among the marketing strategies utilized when Samsung participated in the Paris 2024 event, was the Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition to take victory selfies. All in all, 293 victory selfies were snapped with the assistance of medalists during post the medal ceremonies.
Athletes also replaced Media photos with the Galaxy Z Flip6's main camera thus making further personalization to their celebrations. This has made victory special because athletes had the capacity to take their own pictures or even record their own victories.

To ensure that athletes and para-athletes were captured, Samsung supplied 17,000 Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition gadgets to every individual at the games. These devices came bundled with two sets as found below; an eSIM with free 5 GB data from Orange.
Also, the phones were loaded with the Samsung Wallet a public transport card for the Olympic Games, and a one-stop social network site for Olympians. This portal enabled the athletes to share their experiences and some of the memories that they had during the events.
Samsung has been also supporting the athletes, but most importantly, being helpful to the staff and volunteers.
According to GSM Arena, the company provided 7,100 smartphones, 2,500 Galaxy Tab tablets, and 5,200 Galaxy Book laptops this year. These devices facilitated the flow of communication and enabled the proper organization of the event hence depicting Samsung's concern in the Olympics' success.
Samsung's involvement in Paris 2024 is not to only provide athletes with experiences or distribute its technologies. It ensured cover of the strange Athlete's Parade which was conducted not on the stadium, but on the Seine River.
Samsung supplied more than 200 of its Galaxy S24 Ultra to fit on the boats that would relay the signal of the opening ceremony. These smartphones that used their own private 5G network were capable of providing breathtaking live streams. Also, thanks to the IP68 certificate of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the devices could be used further for the Marseille sailing competition after the event.
For promotion, Samsung together with the IOC and the Paralympic Movement established some pop-up stores in various places in Paris including the Champs-Elysees, Square Marigny, and the Village Plaza.
More than 380,000 people visited these stores; thus this activity also allowed the fans as well as athletes to touch and buy Samsung technologies and products with Olympic symbols.
The novelty of trading pins has been an important tradition of the Olympic Games since the beginning of the twentieth century or even earlier, in specific, definitely since 1908.
Samsung promoted itself with Samsung Olympic Games pins at Paris 2024, during which Samsung gave out 350,000 pins to both the fans and the athletes. Such pins were released strictly for several days and proved to turn into the perspectives of collectors to such Olympic experience in the modern world.
This year's Olympics saw Samsung continue with its partnership and these are some of the ways it reached out to the blocked fans.
Samsung's association with the Olympic Games, however, is not ending this year. It has a partnership agreement with IOC, and it is as such positioned to be an integral part of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter and Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics.
Based on Samsung's prowess of innovation and support, it will further enhance the experience of the Olympics for athletes, staff as well as fans.
