Apple plans to put out new versions of its main operating systems like iOS Mac software iPad software and more. The public can expect them on Sept. 16.
After Apple's big event about iPhones, the company said updates for smart TVs and its HomePod speaker will come the same day. New stuff promises to better users' experience on Apple gadgets.
These updates bring big changes to Apple's systems. A key upgrade will help iPhones and Android phones talk to each other better. This happens through RCS, a new messaging system. It gives users clearer pictures while chatting, shows who is typing, and makes chatting safer.
According to Ars Technica, another update will let iPhone owners control their phones from a Mac. This tool copies the iPhone screen to the Mac, letting users do everything on the bigger screen.
For people using iPhones or iPads new design options will allow more ways to change what their devices look like from app icons to screen sections.

New updates bring many improvements. But something important is still missing—Apple Intelligence. Many hoped for these AI-powered features after they were announced at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in June.
Apple Intelligence promises smarter tools and better automation for Apple devices, using machine learning. But this won't arrive in the initial update on Sept. 16, MacRumors writes in its report.
Currently, Apple tests Apple Intelligence on beta versions of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS 15.1. These should become available later in the fall. When ready, it will only work on newer devices.
iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, some iPad Air and Pro models with M1, M2, or M4 chips, and Macs with Apple Silicon will enjoy this feature. Older devices, especially in Europe, may have to wait longer because of legal concerns.
Those devices with iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and macOS Sonoma will still receive the latest OS update including Intel-powered Macs from 2018 to 2020.
Though, a few older devices won't get these updates anymore. For instance, the 2018 MacBook Air and some iPads will miss out. But iPhones like the iPhone XR and iPhone XS, both released in 2018, will still support iOS 18. How long will that last, though? Time will tell.
Apple's new system updates bring exciting changes and easier use. It's a great opportunity for users to upgrade. Improvements like RCS support, iPhone Mirroring, and better ways to customize your experience are coming soon.
Missing in this release is Apple Intelligence, but it probably arrive later this year with surprising effects when introduced.
