Enhanced Query Handling and User Interaction

With the release of these new operating systems, Siri will feature improved query handling by leveraging the powerful capabilities of ChatGPT. When a user asks a question, Siri will determine whether the query could benefit from ChatGPT's processing. If so, Siri will request user permission to forward the query to ChatGPT. This process ensures that users can access advanced AI without needing to switch between different tools or applications.

The integration allows Siri to handle multi-modal queries involving text, documents, photos, PDFs, and more. For instance, users can inquire about the contents of a document or ask for insights based on a photo. This capability is designed to make Siri more versatile and efficient in handling complex queries.

Systemwide Writing Tools Integration

One of the standout features of this update is the incorporation of ChatGPT into Apple's new system wide writing tools. These shall be called Compose tools and they shall allow the user to create content without challenges. Threaded directly into the applications users are working within - be it email, report writing, or storytelling - ChatGPT's text generation utility is always available.

Furthermore, Compose will also have ChatGPT featuring image tools which enable a user to create images in different forms and stylings as they write their content.

This feature is going to be especially useful in enriching and boosting the performance of creative individuals, especially writers, designers, students, etc. Concept integration is said to make content creation less complicated and cumbersome but easier and more fluid.

Privacy and Accessibility Features

Apple has emphasized that user privacy remains a top priority with these updates. Siri will use GPT-4o, an available version of OpenAI's model, because all the requests will be handled both anonymously, with no IP address logged and free of charge to Apple. However, the Siri ChatGPT is a paid service, and the users of the paid package coming with subscribed deals will only be able to access the premium assets of Siri. These improvements to Siri along with a more general integration of ChatGPT are all still planned to be debuted at the Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024.
