Just three days after addressing a central NFC tap-to-pay issue, Google has pushed another update called the Android 15 Beta. The Beta 1.2 release, which targets the development of the recently unveiled Android version for Pixel devices, has a significant task in its corridor: to complete the stability and performance of the previously given version.

The Beta 1.1 version of Google started a contactless payment wave with Google Wallet. The process uses NFC. Now, with the Beta 1.2 patch (build AP31.240322.027), the tech giant is tackling additional bugs users report. Let's dive into the details of the fixes included in this small (approximately 14MB) update:

App Freeze Issue Resolved

One of the critical issues addressed in Beta 1.2 was related to apps freezing and displaying an "Application Not Responding" message. Users had reported this frustrating experience, and Google swiftly fixed it. No more waiting for apps to recover from unresponsiveness!

Battery Drain Fix

Some users experienced excessive battery drain after updating to Android 15 Beta. Google will release beta version 1.2 to fix this problem. The Pixel device's battery life should have improved so you can use it all day without thinking about how soon you will exhaust your phone's juice.

System Settings App Stability

Adding a fingerprint to your Pixel device should be a smooth process. However, some users encountered crashes in the system Settings app while setting up their fingerprints. The Beta 1.2 update addresses this issue, ensuring a seamless experience when configuring biometric security.

System Back Gesture Enhancement

The system back gesture (swiping from the edge of the screen) is a convenient navigation feature. Unfortunately, it wasn't working consistently for some users. Google fixed this in Beta 1.2, making sure the back gesture functions reliably across all scenarios.

Screen Flicker Issue Squashed

For many people, screen flicker is irritating and distracting. Google addressed users' feedback regarding screen flickering in the Beta 1.2 version. Whether scrolling, watching movies, or playing a game on your Pixel device, its display will automatically be kept at a level.

Device compatibility and OTA Update

The Beta 1.2 OTA update will be sent to all qualified Pixel devices that have signed up for OTA Updates. This version includes the April 2024 security support in addition to bug fixes. If you own one of these Google Pixel devices, pay close attention to your notifications for the debugging update.

Google, one of the leading brands in the world of technology, constantly strives to improve their consumer's and users' experience with each release of their Android updates. Even if these debugging updates are not as flashy as the new features, there is no doubt that these updates are essential to keep your devices functioning to their best, giving you a reliable operating system. If you're in the Android early beta program and a Pixel user, you will surely benefit from the more stable experience of one of the best Android devices.
