When it comes to video card launches, NVIDIA sticks to a pretty clear pattern. For instance, if the popular chip maker kicks things off with a cut-down Titan, as it did with both the Kepler and Pascal generations, a full-fledged Titan is just around the corner.
And certainly, with the recent addition of the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, which ousts the original Titan X Pascal, NVIDIA has made a comeback to take the wraps off their well-developed Titan for this generation: the NVIDIA Titan Xp. Much to the chagrin of last-gen Titan X owners, NVIDIA launched the GTX 1080 Ti GPU, that warranted more performance for nearly half the price, but with the launch of the Titan Xp, rich gamers will be able to regain bragging rights as it comes bearing a steep price tag of $1,200.
NVIDIA's latest top-of-the-line consumer GPU will be up for grabs direct from nvidia.com. The Pascal GP102 chip, which powers NVIDIA's $5,000-plus Quadro P6000, will be powering up NVIDIA's Titan Xp. Taking that into consideration, consumers can actually look at the Titan XP as a relative bargain.
The new card employs 3,840 unlocked CUDA cores, getting the better of the 3,584 in the 1080 Ti. Just like its predecessor, it comes with 12GB of GDDR5X RAM, but it does so at 11.4GHz, which is considerably up from the previous 10GHz. As a result, it can push pixels and voxels at an impressive 547.7 GB/s, which is up from 480GB/s. This gives it enough potential to control Crytek's "Crysis" as if it were "Candy Crush," according to Engadget.
While the new card cements Titan as NVIDIA's flagship, taking the spotlight from the GTX 1080i, the $699 card is still the first preference of the budget conscious buyers. Besides, users can overclock it to the same performance level as the new Titan Xp without breaking much of a sweat. But, there's more to shout about if you're Mac user.
NVIDIA For Mac Users
Mac users will finally be able to get their hands on NVIDIA's latest products. NVIDIA is reportedly gearing up to unveil beta OSX drivers for 10-series cards, without exception -- this comprises the Titan Xp, GTX 1060, GTX 1070, GTX 1080 Ti.
That will particularly come in handy for Adobe CC users on Mac, setting the stage for a comparatively faster CUDA GPU rendering. Those looking to purchase the NVIDIA Xp can head to the company official website where the chip is now available but is restricted to only two per consumer.
