A recent leak about the highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi 6 smartphone revealed another impressive feature for the device. According to the leak, the upcoming smartphone will have 5X Optical Zoom.

For several months, Xiaomi Mi6 has been the favorite topic among varying speculations. Aside from that, there were several claims about its renders being leaked. The latest among the leaks suggests about the device's camera specification.

The upcoming Xiaomi Mi6 phone might use the camera technology of iPhone 7 Plus. This technology in camera uses optical zoom to focus on the subject without sacrificing the quality of the image. The latest camera sample taken by Mi6 would set its only difference from iPhone 7 Plus, which will use a 5x Optical Zoom, reported Wccftech.

The alleged camera sample snapped by Mi6 showed details that it is using a 5x Optical Zoom technology, located at the image's bottom left. The iPhone 7 Plus has 2x Optical Zoom, which is the second telephoto lens, the Mi6 could snap a photo while zooming without degrading the quality of the image.

This could be a great camera feature if this information about Mi6 from MyDrivers is true. Putting these terms in a layman's language, optical zoom is the same as what is done to a film camera. Similar as snapping an image using a DSLR camera, it produces a lossless image quality when enabling the zoom function.

While with the digital zoom, the in-camera is the one functioning and processing all the magic inside the device and not the lens. It seems like Xiaomi is assertive on extending its efforts to unbind the camera technology on their devices. Mi6 will be much awaited by the fans for this new feature. It is also expected to have a support for four-axis anti-shake technology, alongside with a dual camera set up featuring OIS that will be very helpful in mitigating camera shake, says Android Headlines.
