Avid gamers, rejoice! Asus has announced its high-end laptop dubbed, the ROG (Republic of Gamers) GX800 in India. Bearing a steep price tag of INR 7,97,000 (about $12232), the ROG GX800 will specifically be available on demand. The high spec'd device is ideal for those who go only for the best hardware regardless of the cost.
Asus's ROG GX800 succeeds the 2016's GX700, which took the gaming realm by storm thanks to its colossal size, exceptional specs, overclocking capacity and an outrageous price tag of INR 4,12,990, which converts to about $6338. There is no striking difference between last year's ROG GX700 and the latest ROG GX800 as far as concept is concerned; however, the newfangled laptop boasts an array of even more impressive specs and of course, its price has nearly doubled, Gadgets 360 reported.
Asus ROG GX800 Specifications
A quad-core 2.9GHz Intel Core i7-7820HK processor will be firing up the Asus ROG GX800. It will pack dual Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 GPUs with 64GB of RAM, and a range of three 512GB PCIe SSDs, under the hood. The GX800 sports an 18.4-inch LED backlit 4K screen, which offer support to Nvidia's G-sync variable refresh rate standard to facilitate stutter-free gameplay.
Moreover, Asus has devised MechTAG, (Mechanical Tactile Advanced Gaming), which features separately controllable RGB LEDs for each key. The Taiwanese tech firm said in a recently published press release that the depth and tactile feel makes typing and gaming more comfortable. The laptop comes with four speakers and a mic array, paired with an ESS Sabre DAC for headphones.
To ensure high-speed connectivity, the Asus ROG GX800 is equipped with Thunderbolt 3.0 and 10Gbps USB 3.1 (Gen 2), which also drives external displays. Furthermore, it has three standard USB 3.0 ports -- HDMI and Mini-DisplayPort video outputs and Gigabit Ethernet.
In addition, the GX800 is coupled with a foremost version of its precursor's Hydro Overclocking System, which comprises a pair of cooling radiators. In order to cool the CPU and the two GPUs, a user can pump in the coolant when the laptop is attached to its dock. This leads to extreme overclocking of the processor as well as graphic cards, BGR reported.
The GX800's battery comes with a 74Whr capacity, but to ensure both the laptop and dock are running to their full capabilities, a user will need to employ two 330W power bricks. The laptop, on its own, weighs in at 5.7kg, while the dock weighs another 4.6kg. The laptop comes with a wheeled suitcase and a backpack so that a user can easily carry the units around. The buyer also gets an Asus gaming mouse.
Asus ROG GX800 Performance
As far as performance is concerned, Asus confirmed gamers can expect "Doom" to run at 72fps at Ultra quality, "Fallout 4" at 63fps at Ultra quality, "Overwatch" at 143fps at Epic quality and gamers can expect "The Witcher 3" to run at 62fps at Ultra quality.
