The hype created for the release of Apple's latest flagship smartphone, the iPhone 8, has caused prices for current generation iPhones to slightly decrease. The prices are expected to plummet even more when the next iPhone is debuted. This is, of course, good news for those who want to shift to iOS from Android as the older iPhone models are mostly now within reach.

Those who already have an older iPhone and want to try out the newer models, such as the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 7, can also benefit from the recent price reduction. As of the moment, prices for the latest model iPhone 7 have dropped by around 5 percent for a brand new unit. This is from different online retailers and those who are selling on sites such as eBay and Amazon.

As reported by BGR, several iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models are available on eBay with up to $30 off from the price on Apple's own website. The units being sold are mostly brand new and are factory unlocked units, which means that any SIM from any carrier will work with the devices.

Despite the $30 discount, the latest iPhone 7 models may be too expensive for some users. The 32 GB model iPhone 7 is still around $619.99 online, which is still quite expensive for some consumers. Fortunately, sites such as DailySteals do offer an alternative.

Those who want to try out the iOS ecosystem, but don't want to fork out a lot of cash, can opt to get a refurbished iPhone 6s instead. As reported by Phone Arena, these repaired and thoroughly inspected units can be had for as low as $269.99. The price is 40 percent less than the original price on Apple's own website.

It has to be noted that the units are second-hand units that have been repaired, so there will be some minor scratches on them. However, refurbished units are guaranteed to be 100 percent in working condition. Users can also opt to purchase a 1 or 2-year warranty to make sure that they won't have any problems with their device in the future.
