A 30-second teaser trailer and character designs for "Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry" have been released for the film adaptation after the initial reveal of the upcoming feature film's staff and cast. Fans are getting hyped with these revelations following the announcement that it will debut on May 6 in Japan.
According to CrunchyRoll, Hiro Mashima has confirmed that he's original manga's final arc for the series is already in progress. Anime News Network reports that the tagline in the new poster for "Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry" says, "That power ... is it hope or destruction...?" and the manga creator is working on 193 pages of storyboard for the film, where he is also an executive producer.
The key visuals of "Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry" showcased a dragon version of Natsu Dragneel, which is half transformed and has been designed by Mashima himself. The cast ensemble for the film that are making a comeback includes Tetsuya Kakihara as Natsu Dragneel, Rie Kugimiya as Happy, Aya Hirano as Lucy Heartfilia, Sayaka Ohara as Erza Scarlet, Yūichi Nakamura as Gray Fullbuster, Yui Horie as Charles and Satomi Satou as Wendy. It will also feature some original characters like Zash Caine , Sonya and King Animus but the voice cast for the new characters are yet to be revealed.
The key people behind "Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry" also includes Tatsuma Minamikawa, who is directing the film at A-1 Pictures, Shoji Yonemura to pen the script, Yuuko Yamada is the chief animation director and character designer, Yasuharu Takanashi is composing the music and GAGA is set to distribute the film. It was in May 2015 when Weekly Shonen Magazine announced that "Fairy Tail" is getting a second film adaptation.
