"The Walking Dead" has this thing of different groups that suddenly appears out of nowhere and then would try to challenge Rick Grimes and his group and the latest one that just did it is the Scavengers. The group calls the junkyard their home, which is of course different from the homes at Alexandria, the Hilltop, the Sanctuary, the Oceanside, and the Kingdom.

Everyone learned the group's name because Scottish actress, director and writer Pollyanna McIntosh has previously said during the Talking Dead episode following the "The Walking Dead" episode ‘New Best Friends' that she's playing the role of Jadis as the leader of the Scavengers, according to a report. However, the Scavengers in the zombie apocalypse series is apparently different from the comics although they were not that really important compared to the TV series.

In the "The Walking Dead" episode ‘New Best Friends', fans were introduced to the Scavengers, who live in a junkyard where they turned into a kingdom of trash packed with pathways, tunnels and a death pit with a modified walker making it more deadly as fans seen it during the "The Walking Dead" episode where Rick had to fight for his life against it. The Scavengers are oddly creative and unusually silent and the only person who does the talking is their leader Jadis, who has her own unique way of speech.

Reports say that McIntosh has spanned television, theater and film and has been working since her teenage days and landed a modelling career, which is apparently a huge help to her role in "The Walking Dead" as to how she carries Jadis' signature look in the TV series. McIntosh has spent most of her life is Scotland but she has also lived in Colombia, Portugal, London and Los Angeles, where she worked with teenage boys in jails in LA teaching them ‘how to put a play together'.
